Goodread’s annual reading challenge was not only met this year but exceeded by 6 books, with 1 underway. I started out the year with some old classic works, mostly by one of my all-time favorite authors, Jack London, then shifting to current best sellers. Most memorable of year are Kate Moore’s Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America’s Shining Women, Cooper’s Creek by Alan Morehead, Inferno by Dan Brown, Jeanette Wall’s The Glass Castle, Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience and Finding Joy by Sheryl Sandberg, and my favorite of 2017, Salt: A World History by Mark Kurlansky.
